'COVID-19' Daejeon 3 Cases and Cheonan 1 Case Confirmed... Epidemiological Investigation Underway (Update 2)

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have occurred in Daejeon and Chungnam.

According to Daejeon City and Chungnam Province on the 26th, three new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Daejeon, and one new case was confirmed in Cheonan, Chungnam.

First, in Cheonan, Ms. D (44, female) was tested at Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital (screening clinic) on the 24th due to symptoms such as fever and was self-quarantined. She was finally confirmed positive around 9:40 a.m. on the 26th. It was confirmed that Ms. D first showed symptoms such as fever on the 23rd.

Ms. D is currently being transferred to an infectious disease control facility (negative pressure isolation ward) and is receiving inpatient treatment. The province plans to finalize Ms. D's main symptoms through an epidemiological investigation.

Daejeon City is also conducting an epidemiological investigation on the newly confirmed cases and plans to make an official announcement with detailed information at 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, with the additional confirmed cases today, the number of COVID-19 positive cases has increased to 6 in Daejeon and 5 in Chungnam, respectively.
