The event held at the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education was attended by about 10 officials, including Jang Huiguk, Superintendent of Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, Choi Young, Head of NH Nonghyup Bank Gwangju Headquarters, and Kim Eunyoung, Head of Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation Gwangju Regional Headquarters, reaffirming their commitment to supporting children in crisis due to the COVID-19 virus.
The donated 30 million won will be used to support Green Safety Kits containing masks, hand sanitizers, antibacterial wash, vitamins, and COVID-19 prevention guidelines for 200 care-neighbor children and adolescent households who are relatively vulnerable to infection amid the rapid spread of community transmission.
In particular, emergency living expenses will also be provided for 50 crisis households experiencing economic activity difficulties due to this situation.
The Green Safety Kits, including masks, hand sanitizers, antibacterial wash, vitamins, and COVID-19 prevention guidelines, will be delivered collectively by courier to each household for prompt support and use.
Choi Young, Head of NH Nonghyup Bank Gwangju Headquarters, said, “We hope that the care-neighbor adolescents who are struggling due to the spread of the virus in the community will overcome this situation well and grow healthier in the future,” adding, “Nonghyup Bank will actively carry out preventive activities to end COVID-19.”
Meanwhile, NH Nonghyup Bank Gwangju Headquarters is conducting various social contribution activities for the local community, such as sponsoring transportation expenses and scholarships for care-neighbor adolescents, supporting rural experience activities, and sponsoring group attendance at cultural performances.
