[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] LG Household & Health Care announced on the 26th that it has introduced the robotic process automation system ‘Al Partjang’ to perform simple repetitive tasks.
Al Partjang learns the work processes handled by humans on computers (PCs) and performs standardized tasks that do not require judgment. Typical examples include frequently performed Excel tasks within the company, query downloads from specific IT systems, and sending and receiving emails.
Al Partjang is active with a total of eight units in departments such as sales, accounting, and marketing. It has been officially registered as personnel and can be searched as a ‘colleague’ on the company’s internal communication network. A bulletin board where employees can request tasks requiring Al Partjang’s assistance was also recently established.
Currently, Al Partjang is handling 249 tasks at LG Household & Health Care, covering work that would require 237 employees to spend a total of 39,000 hours annually. It is mainly utilized in sales areas with many manual tasks such as performance reporting, sales, and order processing, supporting sales staff to focus on their core sales activities.
Al Partjang’s task success rate is 95%, the highest level for RPA. An LG Household & Health Care RPA operations manager said, “We are leading the innovation and advancement of work through digital transformation by establishing a ‘collaborative’ system where robots handle simple and repetitive tasks, and humans handle cognitive and analytical tasks.”
