Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Holds 'Firefighting Activity Review Meeting'


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Moon Gisik) announced on the 23rd that it held a 'Firefighting Activity Review Meeting' on the 21st, with the participation of 80 commanders and field personnel.


The meeting focused on the apartment fire accident that occurred in Songjeong-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City during last year's Chuseok holiday period.


At that time, the fire attracted social attention as it caused 6 casualties (2 deaths, 4 injuries) and property damage worth about 30 million won, not only during the Chuseok holiday but also beyond.


This review meeting was organized to thoroughly analyze and review overall firefighting activities, including ▲fire suppression activities ▲life rescue and evacuation situations ▲review of firefighting activity improvement plans, in order to respond effectively to future disaster situations.


Chief Moon Gisik said, "We will do our best to actively reflect the improvement plans derived from this firefighting activity review meeting so that prompt and systematic firefighting activities can be carried out in the event of similar fires."
