WRS Launches 'Clean Road 90' Campaign for Barrier-Free Computing

WRS Launches 'Clean Road 90' Campaign for Barrier-Free Computing

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Woori FIS announced on the 23rd that it will carry out the 'Clean Road 90' campaign to achieve zero downtime in its IT systems. Woori FIS is a subsidiary of Woori Financial Group, providing IT services to Woori Bank, Woori Card, and others.

Since the appointment of President Lee Dong-yeon in December 2018, Woori FIS has pursued intense internal innovation to secure IT service stability. Since last year, it has established a flawless IT operation system and has been conducting the Clean Road 90 campaign every 90 days.

Through this zero downtime achievement campaign, Woori FIS stabilized Woori Bank’s next-generation system, recording zero (0) IT operation system failures over the past 90 days. Compared to 2017, before the next-generation system launch, the annual number of failures last year decreased by 57%.

Woori FIS has continuously implemented processes to intensively inspect and manage factors causing failures to dramatically improve the quality of its IT systems. Even during peak periods such as Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays, when financial transactions (transaction) surge and system load rapidly increases, it smoothly handled large volumes of transactions.

As a result, Woori FIS’s IT operation risk management is evaluated to have established a completely new IT management system and advanced to a stable service stage through proactive response.

A Woori FIS official stated, "Financial institutions’ IT systems always carry the risk of failures due to the complexity of customer service convenience, extensive business scope, and external agency connections," adding, "Woori FIS will continue to lead digital finance by guaranteeing stable customer services through IT innovation."
