Kukil Graphene Begins Construction of Seongnam Center for Mass Production of Graphene Synthesis Equipment

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Kukil Graphene has begun construction of the Seongnam Center for graphene synthesis mass production facilities.

Kukil Graphene, a subsidiary of Kukil Paper, announced on the 21st that construction of the Seongnam Center factory, acquired last month within the Seongnam Industrial Complex, has started. The facility is expected to complete equipment installation by March, and the established equipment will undergo test runs and stabilization phases before mass-producing graphene.

The company stated, “Cleanrooms and related facility construction necessary for graphene manufacturing are underway at the Seongnam Center,” adding, “The roll-to-roll graphene manufacturing equipment currently being produced will be installed at the center once the related facilities are completed.”

Kukil Graphene is conducting product development with overseas companies to apply graphene in the aerospace industry and is promoting joint development of display materials with a domestic company.

A company representative said, “Due to an NDA agreement, we cannot disclose the company names, but the overseas company we are collaborating with for commercialization was connected through the 'Graphene USA 2019' exhibition,” and added, “Sample testing is underway to apply graphene to the aerospace industry.”
