[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Hyundai Card announced on the 20th that it will launch a new product, Hyundai Card 'Digital Lover,' targeting the digital native generation. Digital natives are a generation that grew up in a digital environment where the internet, PCs, and mobile devices are common.
This card is the first to adopt the '3F system,' which consists of three layers of benefits with different characteristics: Basic, Subscription, and Gift. 1F is the basic benefit layer of the product, providing benefits for digital services frequently used by the digital native generation. It offers a monthly discount of up to 10,000 KRW on the usage fee of one selected major digital streaming service (YouTube Premium, Netflix, Melon, Genie).
When using major simple payment services, which are key intermediaries of untact consumption (Samsung Pay, Naver Pay, Kakao Pay, SSG Pay, Smile Pay, Coupay), 5% of the payment amount is discounted up to 10,000 KRW per month.
In 1F, Hyundai Card members can also enjoy exclusive member benefits such as discounts on Hyundai Card Super Concerts and free admission to Hyundai Card Library (Design, Travel, Music, Cooking). However, all discount benefits except for Hyundai Card Super Series discounts are available only when the previous month's usage amount is 500,000 KRW or more. The annual fee applies only to 1F and is 20,000 KRW for both domestic-only and domestic/international (VISA) cards.
2F is a paid subscription service layer that members holding the 1F card can select and use. The entire package consists of a Shopping Pack offering shopping benefits from overseas direct purchase to domestic shopping, a Play Pack consisting of travel and cultural services, and a Digital Pack supporting the use of digital content. Card members can subscribe to one package per person, and the usage fee is 50,000 KRW for six months.
3F is a layer that gifts personalized benefits using data curation technology developed by Hyundai Card. Hyundai Card analyzes each member's consumption tendencies and provides (recommends) optimized benefits to each member. Members can view 3F gift benefits on the Hyundai Card app, select the desired gift, and apply to enjoy various discounts and coupon benefits.
This card implements all core elements of the card usage experience exclusively in digital form. All processes, from card application to receipt registration, statement inquiry, and use of the 3F system, can be conducted only through the Hyundai Card app.
Hyundai Card also plans to launch a new style of brand campaign in collaboration with musician Crush.
A Hyundai Card official said, "We focused on reflecting the characteristics of digital native customers who value their own identity and lifestyle rather than general conditions such as occupation or income in the product," adding, "This card will be the starting point to create a new trend in the card market."
