[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Nambu Fire Station announced on the 20th that it will operate the ‘Emergency Exit Closure and Other Illegal Acts Reporting Reward System’ year-round.
The ‘Emergency Exit Reporting Reward System’ is being promoted to spread a voluntary culture by securing evacuation routes.
This system rewards reporters who report violations related to the installation and maintenance of emergency exits, which are crucial fire safety facilities for moving to a safe evacuation place in case of fire.
The facilities eligible for reporting rewards include cultural and assembly facilities, sales facilities, transportation facilities, lodging facilities, entertainment facilities, and complex buildings (including sales and lodging facilities).
Illegal acts include ▲closing or blocking (including locking) fire safety facilities ▲placing objects in emergency exits or evacuation routes ▲leaving fire pumps in fire extinguishing equipment in a broken state, and other acts that hinder evacuation.
To report, submit a report form along with photos or videos to the relevant fire station by visiting in person, mail, or other various means.
After on-site verification, if the act is confirmed to be illegal, a reward payment review meeting will be held, and the reporter will receive a reward.
A Nambu Fire Station official said, “Emergency exits become doors of life that save precious lives in case of fire,” and added, “We hope for active participation from citizens to prevent human casualties caused by fire in advance.”
