[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jang Man-chae, a preliminary candidate for the Democratic Party of Korea in Suncheon, announced on the 20th, "I will work on revising the law to ensure the continuity of contracts for the job security of housing managers."
Candidate Jang made this statement during a policy meeting with housing managers (building managers) in Suncheon on the 19th.
Candidate Jang pointed out, "The apartment management regulations do not clearly specify the term of office, making the status of housing managers unstable," and emphasized, "The related laws must be revised to guarantee the term of office for housing managers."
He also stressed, "I will actively support the establishment of a consultation center in Suncheon for the professional development of housing managers and for joint progress with residents' representative meetings."
Currently, joint housing management support centers are installed in only two places nationwide, including Seo-gu in Daejeon, but there is none yet in Suncheon, where the proportion of multi-family housing is high.
Candidate Jang said, "Employees of apartment management offices are making great efforts at the forefront of environmental preservation, such as separating garbage and processing food waste," but pointed out, "Government support measures for this are rather passive."
He continued, "From now on, I promise to represent even the small details so that the government can properly understand the realities on the ground."
Finally, he said, "In the case of private rental apartments, I understand that the construction companies neglect building maintenance, resulting in poor living environments," and promised, "I will thoroughly supervise and improve the system to eliminate such blind spots."
Preliminary candidate Jang Man-chae served as a professor and president at Suncheon University and was the 16th and 17th Jeonnam Superintendent of Education.
