The Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced on the 20th that they have apprehended and are investigating A (24), an Uzbek national, on charges of assault for hitting his girlfriend.
A is accused of assaulting his girlfriend of the same nationality by strangling her neck at a goshiwon in Buk-gu, Gwangju, around 4 a.m. that day.
It was investigated that A committed the crime while drinking with his girlfriend.
A reportedly claimed that in Uzbekistan, hitting a cheating woman is not considered a crime.
