[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Independent lawmaker Sohn Hye-won raised questions on the 19th regarding lawyer Kim Nam-guk, who declared his candidacy for the Gangseo-gap district in Seoul, directed at Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation.
On that day, Sohn posted on her Facebook, saying, "I am really asking because I don't know," and posed three questions to Chairman Yoo.
She asked ▲ whether lawyer Kim Nam-guk decided on his own to run in the Gangseo-gap primary ▲ if the Democratic Party willingly sends newcomers who choose difficult districts ▲ and whether newcomers have no opportunities other than party primaries, strategic nominations, or proportional representation.
Earlier, on the 18th, Chairman Yoo said on the live broadcast of his YouTube channel 'Yoo Si-min's Alileo' regarding Kim's challenge to the Gangseo-gap district, which is the constituency of lawmaker Geum Tae-seop, "Starting politics through intra-party competition is not wise."
He added, "Newcomers should go to face tough incumbents from the Korean Party (United Future Party)," and said, "If I were Kim Nam-guk, I would go to a difficult district for the Democratic Party. It's unfortunate."
Lawyer Kim previously participated as a writer in the 'Jo Guk White Paper Promotion Committee,' which was launched to document the prosecution and media's conduct from the appointment to the resignation of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk.
