[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Amid heightened awareness of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the Court Administration Office has decided to proceed with the Grade 9 open competitive recruitment exam as scheduled on the 22nd.

On the 18th, the Court Administration Office announced this plan and explained, "To prevent infection and spread of COVID-19, we prioritized the safety of examinees and the local community by preparing and implementing measures such as disinfecting exam sites, mandatory temperature checks, standby medical personnel, and setting up backup exam rooms."

The Court Administration Office will disinfect the exam sites on the 21st (the day before the exam) and on the 22nd or 23rd (after the exam). On the exam day, examinees will be allowed to wear personal masks, and spare masks will be provided at the exam sites. Additionally, the main entrance of the exam sites will be unified, and a dedicated temperature check team will be formed so that examinees undergo temperature screening through a thermal monitoring system, sanitize their hands with hand sanitizer, and then enter the exam room. Examinees will also be encouraged to bring their own packed meals, and access to the exam sites will be strictly controlled, allowing only exam-related personnel.

For examinees subject to self-quarantine, a separate on-site exam will be conducted. Examinees who show symptoms such as a fever (37.5 degrees Celsius or higher) confirmed on the exam day will be referred to the medical team for separate diagnosis. After a medical interview, they will either take the exam in a backup exam room within the exam site or be transferred to a public health center. If there is a high suspicion of infection, they will be reported to the public health center and transferred, making it impossible for them to take the exam.
