Geumcheon-gu to Promote 2020 Urban Regeneration Resident Proposal Project in Doksan-dong Usijang Area... Resident Proposal Submission from Feb 24 to Mar 2... Total 14 Projects Selected: 5 Neighbor-Making, 5 Project Discovery & Execution, 4 Planning Proposals

Urban Regeneration Resident Contest in Doksan Dongwoo Market Area

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseonghun) will conduct an urban regeneration resident contest project from February 24 to March 2 as part of the urban regeneration New Deal project in the Doksan-dong Usijang area.

This contest project was prepared to establish a successful urban regeneration foundation led by residents and to revitalize the community within the Doksan-dong Usijang urban regeneration activation area based on the creative ideas and execution capabilities of local residents.

The contest fields are divided into general resident contest and planning contest. The general resident contest consists of the 'Neighbor Making' category to activate resident communities within the target area and the 'Project Discovery & Execution' category to discover and implement projects reflecting local characteristics. The planning contest targets specialized urban regeneration projects or specialized projects such as environmental improvement, space activation, and urban regeneration promotion within the target area.

Eligibility for application: For the general resident contest 'Neighbor Making' project, at least three residents within the project area are required; for the 'Project Discovery & Execution' project and the planning contest, a resident group of five or more or an organization based on the village unit is required.

If selected for the resident contest project, the 'Neighbor Making' project in the general resident contest field can receive up to 1 million KRW, 'Project Discovery & Execution' up to 5 million KRW, and the planning contest up to 10 million KRW. However, for the 'Project Discovery & Execution' in the general resident contest and the planning contest, 10% of the project cost must be self-funded.

The district plans to select a total of 14 projects: 10 in the general resident contest field (5 for Neighbor Making, 5 for Project Discovery & Execution) and 4 in the planning contest field.

Resident groups wishing to participate in the contest project can download the application form from the 'Notices & Announcements' section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website (www.geumcheon.go.kr), fill it out, and submit it by visiting the Doksan-dong Usijang urban regeneration field support center or by email (durc809@naver.com).

The district will announce the selection results in April after preliminary screening, selection committee review, and local subsidy committee review.

To assist residents interested in the urban regeneration resident contest project, pre-consultations will be held at the Doksan-dong Usijang urban regeneration field support center (Geumcheon-gu Beoman-ro 21-gil 17, 4th floor) until the application deadline on March 2.

Detailed information about this contest can be found in the 'Notices & Announcements' section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website (www.geumcheon.go.kr).

Mayor Yuseonghun of Geumcheon-gu said, “Through this resident contest project, I hope to contribute to the revitalization of the Doksan-dong Usijang area by discovering and supporting the execution of creative and diverse resident ideas. We will continue to strive to build a sustainable urban regeneration foundation through expanded resident participation.”
