[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 14th, Justice Party lawmaker Lee Jung-mi criticized the Central Election Commission's (CEC) approval of the registration of the Future Korea Party, a satellite party for proportional representation of the Liberty Korea Party, calling it "a very wrong decision that will cause great confusion."

On the same day, appearing on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus,' Rep. Lee said, "The Future Korea Party is not just a simple satellite party but a fake party controlled by the Korea Party. The CEC, succumbing to the power of the Korea Party, made this wrong decision by violating the Constitution and laws, so it must be withdrawn immediately."

She continued, "The emergence of a fake party is a bigger problem than just the party name issue," adding, "We express our regret over the decision that the public cannot accept, and we demand a quick acknowledgment and withdrawal of this wrong decision."

Regarding Liberty Korea Party lawmaker Lee Jong-myung, who caused controversy last year with derogatory remarks about the May 18 Democratic Uprising and is now defecting to the Future Korea Party, she said, "Is it acceptable to create a party like this by recycling scraps? For such a long time, when all citizens demanded disciplinary action against this lawmaker's reckless remarks, there was no response, but in the end, he was used as a tool to protect vested interests, which is truly shocking."

Rep. Lee added, "For Lee Jong-myung himself to accept being used as such a disgraceful tool shows a complete lack of pride."

She then pointed out, "The Future Korea Party might think it can gain a significant number of seats and reclaim the position of the largest party," calling it "a kind of fraudulent party."

He explained, "Currently, the Korea Party is trying to transfer the majority of its lawmakers to form a negotiation group or higher to secure top ballot positions. If that happens, the Korea Party will receive a substantial amount of state subsidies as a negotiation group," adding, "Since most of the state subsidies in our country are allocated first to negotiation groups, which receive 50% of the total subsidies, this fake satellite party would effectively be stealing about 4.6 billion won of taxpayers' money."
