[Asia Economy Reporter Su Su-yeon] The Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Organizing Committee recently decided to proceed with the '2020 Hydrogen Mobility+ Show' as scheduled on March 18, despite the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
On the 13th, the committee held an emergency meeting and concluded that, although it is a difficult time due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, it is desirable to hold the event as originally planned to promote the hydrogen industry and minimize economic contraction.
However, the committee plans to work closely with KINTEX to establish a thorough quarantine and disinfection system in accordance with the government's quarantine and prevention guidelines against the coronavirus infection, ensuring that exhibitors and visitors can attend the event with peace of mind. While maintaining the government's infectious disease crisis alert at the 'caution' level, they intend to prepare a full-scale response system equivalent to the highest 'serious' level.
During the exhibition period, an infectious disease control tower task force will be set up at KINTEX, with medical managers stationed on-site to strictly manage visitors including exhibitors, buyers, and attendees. Hand sanitizers and masks will be provided at main entrances and restrooms of the exhibition hall, and thermal imaging cameras to detect fever will be operated. Additionally, in preparation for the possibility of suspected cases among visitors, emergency medical facilities will be fully equipped in cooperation with public health centers and other relevant institutions.
Furthermore, the committee plans to allow entry only to individuals from countries where the virus is spreading, such as China, or those who have visited those areas, after proving through coordinated quarantine with related agencies that they are not infected.
Jung Man-gi, Chairman of the Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Organizing Committee, said, "For the exhibition to operate as a sterile event, voluntary cooperation from not only the event organizers and participating companies but also visitors is crucial," adding, "The committee will continue to devise the best quarantine measures in cooperation with KINTEX and health authorities."
This Hydrogen Mobility+ Show exhibition will be held for three days from the 18th to the 20th of next month at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, with the aim of making the hydrogen industry a future growth engine.
