LG Electronics Benefiting from Shin Bong-sun Launches "Smartphone Usage Good Deeds Wanted" Event

LG Electronics Benefiting from Shin Bong-sun Launches "Smartphone Usage Good Deeds Wanted" Event

[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] LG Electronics, which enjoyed an 'unexpected marketing effect' with smartphones that remained intact even after falling from a 50m-high bridge, has officially started publicly seeking heartwarming stories of smartphone use from customers. The strategy is to introduce the reliability and durability of LG smartphones through customers' own words.

LG Electronics announced on the 13th that it will hold the 'Happy Moments with LG Mobile' event targeting customers using LG smartphones until the 20th. Customers who wish to participate can post their fun and happy experiences using LG smartphones on Instagram LG Mobile with hashtags starting from that day. LG Electronics plans to select outstanding stories from the submissions and award two grand prize winners with LG V50S ThinQ smartphones and ten runners-up with mobile gift certificates.

This event was planned following the durability of LG smartphones becoming a hot topic after a scene aired on a variety show where comedian Shin Bongseon accidentally dropped her LG G6 but retrieved it in perfect condition. At that time, even after falling from a 50m-high bridge, the product was not significantly damaged and worked perfectly. Shin Bongseon, who led this unexpected marketing, will also participate in the event by sharing her LG smartphone experience.

Since the release of the LG V10 in 2015, LG Electronics has continuously introduced smartphones that have passed about 10 items of the military standard MIL-STD 810G (military spec). This means the devices have durability sufficient for military operations. Shin Jaehyuk, LG Electronics' Mobile Marketing Manager, emphasized, "We planned this event to promote one of LG smartphones' strengths, excellent durability, and to express our gratitude to customers."
