'Life Documentary My Way' Singer Park Jaeran Tears Up Mentioning Late Daughter Park Seongsin: "Fainted at the Funeral"

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Singer Park Jae-ran (82) shed tears recalling her daughter, the late Park Sung-shin, who passed away earlier.

On the 12th, Park Jae-ran appeared on TV Chosun's documentary program 'Life Documentary My Way' and shared her life story.

In the broadcast, Park Jae-ran mentioned her daughter Park Sung-shin, who passed away in 2014 due to a heart condition.

Park Jae-ran said, "After divorcing due to my husband's business failure and infidelity, I went to the United States," adding, "I left my two daughters in Korea against my husband's wishes."

She said, "I wanted to die in the United States, but I endured because of my longing for my two daughters and my passion for the stage."

Park Jae-ran shared, "After returning to Korea, I heard through the newspaper about my second daughter Park Sung-shin's debut as a singer," and described her as "a daughter who resembled me especially much."

She continued, "Six years ago, I received a call from my son-in-law saying 'Suddenly, my daughter collapsed,' and when I went to the funeral hall in Daejeon, I fainted."

She added, "By the time I regained consciousness, all the funeral procedures for Park Sung-shin had already been completed," and tearfully recalled, "Once, when it was pouring rain, I missed my daughter so much that I grabbed the steering wheel and kept calling her name."

Park Jae-ran expressed her longing for her daughter, saying, "That's why they say 'children are buried in the heart.' On that rainy day, while driving and calling my daughter's name, someone beside me said, 'I'm here, happy and good. Don't cry, Mom,' and I felt it deeply in my heart."
