Yongsan-gu, Promotion of Village Community Contest Project

Public Recruitment for 60 Projects in 6 Fields...Open to Residents or Groups of 3+ in Yongsan Living Area

Yongsan-gu, Promotion of Village Community Contest Project

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yongsan-gu (District Mayor Seongjang Hyun) will publicly recruit village community revitalization projects from March 6 to 20.

This is to strengthen communication among neighbors and enable residents to proactively solve village issues.

This year’s ‘Village Community Public Project’ includes 60 projects across 6 categories, with a total budget of 180 million KRW.

The open recruitment categories are ▲Neighbor Making Support ▲Our Village Making Support ▲Activity Support ▲Space Support ▲Alley Making ▲District Resident Participation Projects.

The project contents cover all matters that can solve common village problems such as communication, local culture, welfare, childcare, and education. However, existing subsidy-supported projects and organizations’ unique projects are excluded.

Any group of three or more people who are residents or have living areas (workplace, school, etc.) in Yongsan-gu can participate. However, direct family members are considered as one person even if there are multiple.

Those who wish to participate can apply through the Seoul Village Community Comprehensive Support Center website (http://www.seoulmaeul.org).

Pre-consultation is also supported until April 6 for those interested in the public project. They can receive project explanations and guidance on how to write project proposals from the district’s Village Autonomy Center (☎6953-7158).

All forms such as project proposals and plans can be downloaded from the district office website’s notices and announcements section. New applicants and those applying for alley making or space support projects must receive pre-consultation before participating.

The evaluation for selecting support targets will be conducted in April. The assessment will consider project feasibility, execution capability, and effectiveness, with results announced in May.

Subsequently, the district will conduct training for selected project participants and sign agreements in May. The project period is seven months, from May (agreement date) to November.

Last year, the district carried out 54 projects in 6 categories with residents, including ‘One Heart Village Music Concert,’ ‘Rooftop Moonlight Film Festival,’ and ‘Beauty Classes for Seniors.’

Seongjang Hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “We are publicly recruiting about 60 village community projects. We hope residents actively participate to solve village problems through neighborly communication and cooperation.”
