The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters recently announced on the 11th that it has prepared a 'Safety Management Roadmap for People with Disabilities,' which includes conducting fire safety information surveys at residential facilities for people with disabilities (along with special fire inspections), continuously expanding the supply of basic fire safety facilities to households and residential facilities for people with disabilities, and conducting joint fire drills and safety consulting with related agencies of facilities for people with disabilities.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters will also conduct training for disaster safety education specialists for people with disabilities (5 people) and provide disaster safety education to enhance the quality of disaster response safety education for people with disabilities.
In addition, evacuation guidance videos will be produced for people with disabilities using movie theaters with more than 300 seats. The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters plans to produce and distribute the videos around July. The production of these videos is in accordance with the revision of the 'Special Act on the Safety Management of Multi-use Facilities' scheduled for April.
An Ki-seung, Head of Life Safety at the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters, emphasized, "The strengthened safety management measures for people with disabilities to be promoted this year are part of Governor Lee Jae-myung's campaign pledge to establish a disaster safety support system for people with disabilities. We will meticulously implement fire policies in each field to strengthen safety management for people with disabilities and do our best to prevent safety accidents for people with disabilities who suffer greater damage in the event of a disaster."
Last year, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters implemented related measures for safety management for people with disabilities, including ▲ joint fire drills and consulting at facilities for people with disabilities (536 locations) ▲ production and distribution of braille manuals for disaster response for people with disabilities (5,300 copies) ▲ training of disaster specialist instructors for people with disabilities (5 people).
