Employees who participated in the launch ceremony of the 'Wolgok 1-dong Alleyway Care Special Task Force' held on the 3rd
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Seungro Lee) Wolgok 1-dong Community Service Center is operating the ‘Wolgok 1-dong Alleyway Care Special Task Force’ as part of the clean alleyway creation and halving garbage reduction project, launching a village alleyway cleanliness campaign.
Wolgok 1-dong is an area composed of 67% apartments and 33% general houses, where complaints about cleaning and illegal dumping are relatively frequent in the general housing alleyways, causing constant inconvenience to residents’ daily lives.
In response, the community service center focused on this issue and established the ‘Wolgok 1-dong Alleyway Care Special Task Force,’ consisting of public officials and public work participants, to promptly handle illegally dumped garbage before complaints arise.
The ‘Wolgok 1-dong Alleyway Care Special Task Force,’ which held its launch ceremony in front of the community service center on the 3rd, decided to carry out activities once a week. For its first activity yesterday (the 10th), it processed over one ton of illegally dumped garbage, marking the start of the alleyway cleanliness campaign by the task force.
Additionally, the community service center plans to form a resident autonomous cleaning team composed of student volunteers, religious groups, and professional organizations to further promote the culture of resident-led cleaning and participate in the alleyway cleanliness campaign.
A representative of the community service center stated, “Through the operation of the Wolgok 1-dong Alleyway Care Special Task Force and the resident autonomous cleaning team, we will do our best to resolve residents’ inconveniences through public-private cooperation starting from small areas, and further transform the village into a model of administration working together with residents.”
