[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jaehee] Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, sent a congratulatory message on Twitter on the 9th (local time) to the film 'Parasite' and director Bong Joon-ho, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Korean-American actress Sandra Oh, active in Hollywood, also expressed on Twitter, "Congratulations on Parasite's win. I am very proud to be Korean." At the awards ceremony, when 'Parasite' was announced for Best Original Screenplay, Sandra Oh stomped her feet and applauded enthusiastically, cheering with her whole body.

Harry Harris, the U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, also congratulated director Bong Joon-ho on 'Parasite' being the first Korean film to win the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, saying, "I look forward to more awards." He added, "My embassy colleagues and I are enjoying an Oscar viewing party while eating 'Jjapaguri'."

Meanwhile, director Bong Joon-ho's film 'Parasite' captured global attention by winning four awards at the 92nd Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best International Feature Film, and Best Original Screenplay. 'Parasite' is the first foreign-language film ever to win Best Picture.
