[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Singer Jinju, who appeared on JTBC's 'Two Yoo Project Sugar Man' (Sugar Man), shared her recent updates.

On the 7th episode of JTBC's 'Sugar Man 3,' Jinju made an appearance. That day, Jinju explained about her stage name, saying, "Park Jin-young came up with it aiming for a ham commercial," and added, "Since I was his first singer, Park Jin-young put a lot of effort into the concept."

She continued, "We prepared answers to 100 questions together and maintained the concept of a high school girl singer."

She then recalled, "My favorite movie is 'Casper the Friendly Ghost,' and my favorite food is tteokbokki. If someone talked to me in the waiting room, I was told to solve problems from the 'Mathematics Fundamentals' textbook," adding, "I don't know how many times I solved the quadratic formula," which brought laughter from those around her.

Regarding the reason for her inactivity after ending her contract with JYP, she said, "There was a problem during the process of signing with a new agency, which led to a 7-year legal dispute," and added, "I defended myself without a lawyer. As a result of studying for 7 years, I even passed the first round of law school entrance exams."

She further explained, "I went to the National Assembly Library to research and looked up precedents. I studied criminal law and criminal procedure law. As I studied, I thought it would be better to handle it myself," and added, "I thought it would take about 3 years, but the dispute lasted 7 years."

About her current status, she revealed, "I am preparing for a doctoral degree and recently obtained it," and said, "I also studied Black music. I researched human rights and cultural movements related to Black music, and now I am working as a professor," surprising those around her.
