[Asia Economy Reporters Wondara and Jeon Jinyoung] The leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea collectively criticized the Future Korea Party, which is launching on the 5th, calling it "like a comedy" and a "trash party."


Lee In-young, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, said at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 5th, "The public's gaze toward the National Assembly amid the national quarantine crisis is very severe," adding, "Meanwhile, the satellite party of the Liberty Korea Party, the Future Korea Party, is said to be launching today."


He continued, "I cannot help but feel utterly dismayed at this truly comedic political reality," criticizing the situation. He added, "I feel sorry when thinking about the feelings of our people watching a politics full of trickery," and emphasized, "I urge the Korea Party to reflect." He also said, "I once again request an emergency parliamentary action to eradicate the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia)."


Lee Hyung-seok, a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party, criticized, "It is expected that many who are not running will move to the Future Korea Party to secure a front number on the proportional representation ballot," calling it "a situation where they even invite criticism of being a trash party." He urged, "The Korea Party should stop the founding of the Future Korea Party and return to politics that align with common sense."


Park Kwang-on, another Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party, also criticized the founding of the Future Korea Party, saying, "It will remain a very shameful record in political history." He added, "It is an act that insults the democratic capabilities of our people," and said, "The people will never tolerate it."


Nam In-soon, a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party, pointed out, "Han Sun-kyo, a Korea Party lawmaker, is expected to be appointed as the representative of the Future Korea Party," adding, "It has been confirmed that Han Sun-kyo's declaration of not running, which seemed like a de facto retirement from politics, was crocodile tears to deceive the people." She further criticized, "The future of the Future Korea Party, led by a lawmaker who has sullied the National Assembly with various abusive remarks such as sexual harassment comments, insults to party officials, and insults to reporters, is uncertain," and urged, "Hwang Kyo-ahn, the Korea Party leader, must immediately stop the election distortion caused by abusing the election law."
