[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) announced on the 3rd that it will conduct the 'KCC Budget Contest' to incorporate diverse ideas from the public into the budget and enhance transparency in project implementation.
The contest will be held for four weeks until the 28th. Participants can submit ideas for 'new projects in the broadcasting and telecommunications sectors' that the KCC can pursue with its budget, following a specified format.
The KCC will form a judging panel consisting of internal and external members to evaluate the submissions. One grand prize winner will receive a gift certificate worth approximately 300,000 KRW, and four excellence award winners will each receive gift certificates worth about 200,000 KRW. Additionally, to encourage broad public participation, gift certificates worth around 10,000 KRW will be given out through a lottery.
The KCC stated, "We plan to promote the ideas discovered through this contest as new budget projects for 2021." For more details, please visit the KCC website or check their Facebook and Twitter pages.
