[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On Thursday the 30th, the sky will be mostly cloudy nationwide, with some areas experiencing rain or snow. Rain or snow is expected in the Yeongdong region of Gangwon Province and the northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk Province. Jeju Island will have occasional rain, and there is also a possibility of snow in the mountainous areas.


Expected precipitation amounts by the 30th are 5 to 20 mm for Jeju Island, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo. The same amount of rain is predicted for the Yeongdong region of Gangwon Province and the northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk Province until the 31st. Snowfall amounts by the 30th are forecasted to be 3 to 10 cm in the mountainous areas of Jeju Island, and 1 to 5 cm on Ulleungdo and Dokdo. The mountainous areas of Gangwon Province are expected to accumulate 3 to 10 cm of snow by the 31st.


The morning low temperatures will range from -3 to 5 degrees Celsius (average -12 to -1 degrees), and the daytime high temperatures will be between 5 and 11 degrees Celsius (average 1 to 8 degrees), making it relatively mild. Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' to 'Moderate' across all regions. However, Chungnam, Gwangju, and Jeonbuk are expected to experience 'Bad' levels in the afternoon.


From dawn, strong winds will blow over the eastern seas of the South Sea, causing high waves, and very high waves are expected across the East Sea until the 1st of next month. Ships navigating or fishing should exercise particular caution. Wave heights will be 1.5 to 4.0 meters in the nearshore East Sea, 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the nearshore South Sea, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the nearshore West Sea. Offshore wave heights are forecasted to be 3.0 to 6.0 meters in the East Sea, 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the South Sea, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West Sea.
