Gochang-gun Holds Emergency Countermeasure Meeting on Novel Coronavirus

At the countermeasure meeting, Gochang County Governor Yu Gisang received reports on the current status of the novel coronavirus response, gas safety inspections, and fine dust response situations, and instructed each sector to take active and proactive measures.

Governor Yu said, "As the domestic environment of the novel coronavirus is worsening, many residents are feeling anxious," and added, "Regarding safety management such as safety fields following consecutive gas explosion fires and fine dust, related departments should take responsibility and do their best in response."

The county has established screening clinics at Gochang Hospital (560-5600) and the public health center (560-8706) to enable respiratory symptomatic individuals with a history of visiting China to receive medical treatment without visiting medical institutions, thereby establishing a proactive response system to the novel coronavirus.

Going forward, to block the novel coronavirus, the county plans to build a close cooperation system with related organizations and promote prevention rules and response methods through all-around media such as village broadcasts, text messages, and promotional leaflets.

In addition, regarding fine dust management, vacuum sweepers are operated frequently to remove dust along roadsides, and active efforts are being made to guide and manage dust-generating workplaces such as construction sites (building construction sites, civil engineering sites, ready-mix concrete plants, etc.).

A Gochang-gun official said, "To prevent gas safety accidents, when moving, if removing ranges or cooking appliances, contact a professional gas sales store to carry out the work, and it is essential to check whether hose caps are in place and whether gas is leaking from gas cylinder connection hoses, intermediate valves, etc."
