Emergency Quarantine Measures Established Following Domestic Cases of Novel Coronavirus Infection... Installation of Thermal Imaging Cameras in Eunpyeong-gu to Prepare for Emergency Situations
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) held an emergency countermeasure meeting at 9 a.m. on the 28th to prevent the community spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
The district installed a 'screening clinic' with a negative pressure facility operating in front of the public health center for screening of the novel coronavirus infection, and installed thermal imaging cameras at the entrances of the district office and public health center to be on emergency alert in case of suspected patients. In addition, medical institutions and pharmacies in the area were requested to check for pneumonia patients or respiratory symptom patients with a history of travel to China and to report to the public health center or 1339 if suspected.
Also, two large duty-free shops in Eunpyeong-gu, frequently used by Chinese and Southeast Asian tourists, were equipped with thermal imaging cameras with fever detection functions on loan to continuously monitor the body temperature of visitors and employees. Health education was conducted for duty-free shop officials to prevent infection cases.
Furthermore, hand sanitizers and masks will be urgently distributed to the Neunadeuli Center, Hanok Museum, Sabina Art Museum in Eunpyeong Hanok Village, which is popular among foreign tourists, as well as to daycare centers, senior citizen centers, welfare facilities, and libraries within Eunpyeong-gu.
The district is also strengthening publicity through the district office website and SNS about the novel coronavirus infection prevention rules such as 'wearing a mask if you have respiratory symptoms like coughing (mandatory when visiting medical institutions),' 'hand washing,' and 'cough etiquette.'
In particular, residents visiting China are advised to avoid contact with poultry and wild animals, refrain from visiting local markets and medical institutions, and report to 1339 or the public health center (351-8640~1) if fever and respiratory symptoms occur within 14 days after returning from China.
