National Institute of Environmental Research Explores Environmental Industry Development Plans... Workshop Held from 29th to 31st

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The National Institute of Environmental Research will hold the '2020 Environmental Testing and Inspection Agency Quality Control Workshop' for three days from the 29th to the 31st at BEXCO in Busan.


At this workshop, to improve conformity with international standards, revisions to the 'Environmental Testing and Inspection Act' and standard testing procedures, as well as this year's quality control promotion directions, will be introduced, and testing and analysis personnel will gather in one place to share opinions.


In particular, there will be special lectures by Professor Park Jong-gil of Inje University and Dr. Woo Jin-chun of the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science on the topics of 'The Future of the Environmental Industry Linked with Artificial Intelligence' and 'Quality Control of Environmental Measurement and Expression of Measurement Uncertainty,' respectively.


The workshop will be attended by about 2,000 environmental analysis experts from approximately 1,400 testing laboratories nationwide, including watershed (regional) environmental offices, water environment research institutes, city and provincial health and environmental research institutes, measurement agencies, and public wastewater treatment facility operators.


On the first day, the workshop will be conducted for private analysis institutions such as measurement agencies; on the second day, for public institutions such as watershed (regional) environmental offices; and on the last day, for public wastewater treatment facility operators.


Jung Hyun-mi, head of the Environmental Infrastructure Research Division at the National Institute of Environmental Research, said, "Strengthening the capabilities of testing and inspection agencies is important to improve the quality of data in the environmental field," adding, "The National Institute of Environmental Research will also work together to enhance the analysis capabilities of testing and inspection agencies."
