[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 27th, the Liberty Korea Party announced that it will form an internal task force (TF) to investigate the controversy surrounding Seoul Central District Prosecutor Lee Sung-yoon's 'Yoon Seok-yeol passing' related to the indictment of Choi Kang-wook, Secretary for Public Office Discipline at the Blue House, as well as a TF related to the Wuhan pneumonia.

Shim Jae-cheol, the floor leader of the Liberty Korea Party, held a press conference at the National Assembly on the same day and announced the creation of a 'Prosecutorial Massacre TF.' The Prosecutorial Massacre TF will be chaired by Assemblyman Kwon Seong-dong, with members from the Legislation and Judiciary Committee participating. On the 29th, an emergency inquiry on urgent issues will be held at the committee level, and a special prosecutor law will also be proposed.

Floor leader Shim said, "Prosecutor General Yoon instructed Prosecutor Lee to indict Secretary Choi, but Prosecutor Lee ignored it," and criticized, "Secretary Choi threatened by mentioning the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) while calling his indictment a 'coup d'?tat'." He added, "This reveals the true intention behind the regime's strong push for the CIO law," and claimed, "It is a confession that the CIO is a cover-up office for the Moon administration's corruption."

Additionally, regarding concerns about the domestic spread of the novel coronavirus infection, commonly called Wuhan pneumonia, a TF will also be formed to address this issue. Assemblyman Shin Sang-jin will chair the TF, which will include members from related standing committees such as Health and Welfare and Foreign Affairs and Unification, as well as external experts. An emergency inquiry at the Health and Welfare Committee level will be pursued. Floor leader Shim said, "Even now, a serious consideration should be given to banning the entry of travelers from China."
