Trump: "China is working hard to contain Wuhan pneumonia... Thanks to Xi Jinping"

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] On the 24th (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump praised the Chinese government's efforts to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus originating from Wuhan (武漢), China, known as 'Wuhan Pneumonia,' and expressed his gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping (習近平).

In a post on Twitter that day, President Trump said, "China has been working very hard to contain the coronavirus," and added, "The United States is very grateful for their efforts and transparency." He further stated, "It will be resolved well."

President Trump also said, "I especially want to thank President Xi on behalf of the American people."

Meanwhile, the United States reported its second confirmed case of 'Wuhan Pneumonia' on the same day.
