Travel & Culture Discount Events Underway

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Card companies are holding various events to celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday. In addition to discounts on Lunar New Year gift sets, there are plenty of events for customers planning outings with their families.

According to the industry on the 25th, card companies are running travel and cultural discount events such as airfare discounts and amusement park discounts for the Lunar New Year.

Hyundai Card offers up to 15% off international airfares when purchasing promotional routes paid with Hyundai Card at Hana Tour, Interpark Tour, Modu Tour, Online Tour, and Norang Balloon until the 31st of this month. Every Thursday in January, Lotte Internet Duty Free Shop allows payment of half the amount with M Points (10% M Points usage on other days), and on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, up to 8% instant discount coupons are also provided.

Lotte Card also offers a 5% discount on Korean Air tickets to Guam, Sydney, Brisbane, and Auckland purchased through Lotte Card Travel Service until the end of this month, and a 50,000 KRW discount event for customers purchasing Delta Air Lines tickets on all routes departing from Korea. Additionally, by completing the 'Lotte Card Travel' benefit touch on Lotte Card Life or the website's Touch Service and paying for travel products over 500,000 KRW through Lotte Card Travel Service by February 28, customers receive a 20,000 KRW discount on the payment date. Furthermore, when paying for hotels through Lotte Card Travel Service by the 31st and checking in, customers get a 7% discount on overseas hotels and a 7,000 KRW discount per night on domestic hotels.

NH Nonghyup Card provides mobile gift certificates based on cumulative overseas spending through an application process until the end of this month. For cumulative spending of 700,000 KRW or more, a 20,000 KRW Shinsegae mobile gift certificate is given; for spending between 300,000 KRW and less than 700,000 KRW, two Starbucks Americano tall-sized coupons; and for spending between 150,000 KRW and less than 300,000 KRW, one Starbucks Americano tall-sized coupon is provided.

For customers planning domestic outings, KB Kookmin Card is running discount events for amusement park tickets and musical show tickets. Until the end of this month, customers who meet the previous month's usage conditions with KB Kookmin Card for cards offering amusement park discounts can purchase tickets for amusement parks such as Everland and Lotte World at up to 45% off. Also, through KB Kookmin Card's ticket reservation service 'Life Shop Culture,' which has no booking fees, customers can get up to 30% discounts on musicals like The Great Gatsby, Big Fish, and Aida.

Lotte Card also offers discounts until the 31st: when purchasing Lotte World Adventure tickets with Lotte Card, the primary user gets 50% off on the comprehensive ticket, and up to three accompanying persons get 35% off (for those with over 200,000 KRW usage last month). Additionally, for Lotte World Aquarium admission tickets, the primary user receives a 40% discount, and up to three accompanying persons get 30% off. Seoul Sky admission tickets can be purchased at a 30% discount for the primary user and 10% off for up to three accompanying persons.
