[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (Wuhan pneumonia) in Thailand has increased to five.

According to local media such as Khaosod on the 25th, the Thai Ministry of Health announced that a 33-year-old Chinese woman who entered Bangkok from Wuhan (武漢), Hubei (湖北) Province, China, with her 7-year-old daughter on the 21st was confirmed to have Wuhan pneumonia and is currently receiving isolated treatment.

The woman showed no abnormal symptoms upon entry but later visited a hospital due to high fever and muscle pain, where she was diagnosed with the coronavirus. Tests on her daughter came back negative.

As a result, the total number of confirmed Wuhan pneumonia cases in Thailand has reached five, including one Thai national. Among them, three have fully recovered and been discharged. Two patients, including the newly confirmed Chinese woman, are currently undergoing isolated treatment.
