[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Im Eun-jung, head prosecutor of the Ulsan District Prosecutors' Office's Important Economic Crime Investigation Division, revealed that she applied for the internal affairs position during the mid-level prosecutor personnel reshuffle but was unsuccessful.

On the 23rd, Head Prosecutor Im posted on her social media (SNS) Facebook account, "I did apply for the internal affairs position, but unfortunately, I guess I was somewhat lacking." She added, "Even if I do not take on internal affairs duties, there are many ways to fix the broken scales, such as requests for investigations through the reporting system for accusations and internal affairs, so I will continue to think about it."

The Ministry of Justice replaced all personnel responsible for internal affairs at the Ministry and the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in the mid-level personnel reshuffle announced the previous day. Prior to this, the Ministry of Justice held an internal recruitment for positions such as the heads of the 1st and 2nd Internal Affairs Divisions of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and the Special Inspection Team leader. Head Prosecutor Im applied for this recruitment but was not selected and remained in her current position in this personnel reshuffle.

Meanwhile, Seo Ji-hyun, deputy chief prosecutor of the Seongnam Branch Office, who was assigned to the Ministry of Justice to handle tasks related to improving the organizational culture of the Ministry and prosecution and gender equality, expressed her thoughts with the phrase "fearful and heavy steps." On the previous day, Prosecutor Seo wrote on her Facebook, "I had already submitted my resignation, and I had absolutely no desire, not even a speck of dust, to return to that dreadful place. However, those who see me and gain strength and courage, those who ask me to hold on, could not be swallowed up, so in the end, I could not submit the resignation I had prepared."

She continued, "I still earnestly hope that the prosecution, which has not yet changed, will become a prosecution that truly earns the trust and love of the people, and that it will bring even a little hope and courage to the victims who are still suffering. With a praying heart, I am trying to take those fearful and heavy steps once again."
