[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will conduct a full survey through visits targeting businesses with at least one worker engaged in industrial activities in Jungnang-gu (approximately 27,000 businesses) for 25 days from February 12 to March 9.
Organized by Statistics Korea, the annual nationwide business survey identifies the distribution and employment structure of all businesses. The data is used as basic information for policy formulation and evaluation, corporate management planning, academic research, and regional income estimation (GRDP).
The survey items include a total of 11 categories such as business name and business representative. This year, items for measuring the scale of the digital platform economy have been added and will also be used as basic data to build a population for related industries.
Surveyors visit businesses and conduct interviews with respondents. In addition, mail surveys, distribution surveys, and internet surveys will be conducted concurrently.
For this survey, Jungnang-gu plans to provide training on field survey guidelines and questionnaire completion to 51 surveyors on January 31. Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi will personally visit to emphasize the importance of the business survey, the safety of each surveyor, and pride in their role as surveyors.
A district official said, “Survey data will be strictly protected under Article 33 of the Statistics Act regarding confidentiality and will not be used for purposes other than statistics. We ask for active cooperation so that accurate surveys can be conducted when surveyors visit businesses.”
