Ha Tae-kyung: "What Is the Moon Jae-in Administration That Retaliated and Purged Prosecutors Different from the Mafia?"

[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] Ha Tae-kyung, the responsible representative of the New Conservative Party, criticized the Ministry of Justice's large-scale personnel reshuffle of mid-level prosecutors, saying, "How is the Moon administration, which carried out retaliatory purges in the prosecution, any different from a mafia?"

On the 23rd, Representative Ha shared a report about the Ministry of Justice's personnel reshuffle of mid-level prosecutors on his Facebook, stating, "The Moon Jae-in administration has carried out a second retaliatory purge against the prosecution investigating the Blue House's state affairs manipulation."

He said, "Mid-level prosecutors such as Shin Bong-su, the second deputy prosecutor investigating the Ulsan mayor's election rigging, Song Kyung-ho, the third deputy prosecutor who led the investigation into the Cho Kuk case, Ko Hyung-gon, head of the Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 2, and Hong Seung-wook, deputy prosecutor in charge of the Yoo Jae-soo cover-up case, have been massively demoted or pushed out," adding, "This is a clear retaliatory personnel move against the investigation of pro-Moon state affairs manipulation."

He continued, "The Moon administration's purge of the prosecution is no different from a mafia that always takes revenge when its own family is touched. Until now, the Moon administration has covered up power-type corruption within its own family and shamelessly committed election rigging to ensure the election of the boss's close allies," adding, "When the Yoon Seok-yeol prosecution investigated the corruption and crimes of the pro-Moon family, they labeled the prosecution as a deep-rooted evil, purged the executives, and dismantled the investigation teams."

Finally, Representative Ha said, "The mafia-like behavior of the Moon administration, which is making an all-out effort to cover up crimes to protect the pro-Moon family, is a death sentence for the rule of law and judicial system of the Republic of Korea," adding, "It is like giving the people a trash can where fairness and justice have been discarded as a gift for the Lunar New Year. As long as the pro-Moon mafia family continues to run the country, the future of our nation will inevitably be dark."

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice carried out personnel changes for 759 prosecutors, including 257 prosecutors at the high prosecutor level and 502 general prosecutors, on the morning of the same day. All deputy prosecutors who led the Blue House and Cho Kuk investigation teams were subject to personnel changes, leading to criticism from opposition parties such as the Liberty Korea Party that Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae's personnel moves are obstructing investigations.
