New Year Greeting Video Message for Seollal Holiday... "A Happy Seollal with Shoes Full at the Doorstep and Entrance"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in, on the 23rd marking the start of the Lunar New Year holiday, pledged through a New Year's video message, "This year, I will work even harder so that all citizens can feel a 'definite change' and nurture hope."

President Moon said, "May the gratitude towards parents be as abundant as the ceremonial table, and the love for children as fulfilling as the rice cake soup on Seollal," adding, "Thanks to the citizens who think of their neighbors first, we are all able to welcome a warm Lunar New Year. I sincerely thank all the people."

President Moon emphasized, "South Korea is a small but strong country. We have overcome every difficulty and developed to lead the world in many fields," and added, "The world is amazed by our rapid growth and dynamism, high civic consciousness, and the Korean Wave culture."

President Moon stated, "There are those whose longing deepens during the holidays. We will strive to ensure that those who left their hometowns in the North can be with their families before it is too late," and said, "We will not forget the efforts of those who quietly guard their workplaces for a comfortable and safe holiday."

President Moon added, "I wish for a happy Seollal filled with large and small shoes at the doorstep and front door, and warm hearts exchanged."
