Gwangju Shinsegae Eye Clinic Selected as Best ICL Center

Since the introduction of ICL surgery in Gwangju in 2002, Chief Director Kim Jae-bong has been the first to perform it in the Gwangju area and is known as the only authority in Honam capable of performing seven types of lens implantation surgeries, including ICL, Artisan, and Artiflex.

In particular, he has recorded the highest number of ICL surgeries in the Honam region, gaining worldwide recognition for his skills.

ICL (Implantable Contact Lens) surgery is a vision correction procedure developed to correct high myopia and hyperopia. It corrects vision by implanting a specially made lens in front of the natural lens without shaving the cornea, preserving the corneal tissue.

This surgery is suitable for people with thin corneal thickness, severe dry eye syndrome, or corneal diseases who cannot undergo LASIK or LASEK, and it can also correct vision in cases of extreme myopia or astigmatism where laser correction is not possible.

Additionally, it offers semi-permanent vision correction and is regarded as the best vision correction surgery among the various known types, boasting excellent visual recovery.
