According to the Jeonnam Office of Education on the 22nd, about 150 people including Superintendent Jang Seok-woong, Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok, Chairman Noh Jin-young of the Jeonnam Social Welfare Council, and social welfare facility officials attended the New Year's meeting to appreciate their efforts and pledge to enhance welfare for local residents.

In his congratulatory speech, Superintendent Jang said, "Our country has grown into an economic powerhouse with a national income of $30,000," adding, "However, external growth does not necessarily mean an advanced country, and a society must be healthy to be truly advanced."

He continued, "Consideration for the vulnerable and the level of donation culture are measures to judge an advanced country. Donations can be made by anyone regardless of wealth, according to their circumstances, and it is a way to find happiness for oneself."

He also stated, "The third term of the civilian administration's precious Innovative Jeonnam Education is doing its best to realize educational welfare under the slogan 'No child left behind.' This year, we will further strengthen universal educational welfare, such as supporting high school freshmen's uniform costs and providing meal expenses for public kindergartens."
