[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will open school playgrounds and parking lots free of charge for four days from the 24th to the 27th during the Lunar New Year holiday to provide parking convenience for Seoul citizens and reverse homecoming travelers. A total of 374 public and private elementary, middle, and high schools in Seoul will participate in opening their school parking facilities.
Seoul citizens or homecoming travelers can check whether nearby schools are open and the opening hours for each school through the bulletin board on the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education website. If there are any inquiries, they can receive guidance from the schools.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education stated, "We expect this to alleviate parking difficulties for Seoul citizens living in residential areas with insufficient parking facilities and to help citizens visiting parents, siblings, or relatives, as well as reverse homecoming travelers, with parking convenience." They added, "We will continue to support more schools to voluntarily open their parking facilities during holiday periods so that schools can play a role as village communities communicating with the local society."
