From January 3 to February 14, every Friday at Jungnang-gu Office 4th Floor Multipurpose Meeting Room... Targeting about 160 low-income residents with chronic diseases, including basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty groups, and persons with disabilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will conduct "Love Oriental Medicine Clinic" every Friday until February 14th in the multipurpose meeting room on the 4th floor of Jungnang-gu Office.
Now in its 18th year, the "Love Oriental Medicine Clinic" is a service provided through a public-private cooperation project between Jungnang-gu and Gachon University, offering free oriental medical treatment to low-income residents who are unable to receive hospital care due to financial difficulties.
Since 2003, the program has been conducted during summer and winter vacations every year in partnership with Gachon University College of Oriental Medicine's medical volunteer group "Eonjae Hoya" (焉哉乎也), and to date, over 20,000 residents have received treatment.
This winter vacation treatment started on January 3rd and is being held until February 14th in the multipurpose meeting room on the 4th floor of Jungnang-gu Office. The hours are every Friday from 12 PM to 6 PM.
The target group consists of about 160 low-income residents, including basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, and disabled persons, who were registered by neighborhood during the two weeks of December and require oriental medical treatment for chronic diseases.
Considering the characteristics of oriental medicine treatment, it is not a one-time session but continues once a week for six weeks. The health status of patients receiving treatment each week is re-evaluated, and systematic health care including acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping therapy, and herbal medicine prescriptions is provided.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "The Love Oriental Medicine Clinic is a great support for many residents who cannot take care of their health due to economic difficulties. I sincerely thank the Gachon University College of Oriental Medicine medical volunteer group for practicing such great sharing for 18 years, and we will continue to focus on welfare for residents in need through cooperation with various institutions and activation of volunteer work."
