SpoKorea Sponsored 'Offline National Hold'em Tournament' Successfully Held... "Will Expand Domestic Base"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] SpoKorea, a company specializing in sports prediction games and online board game services, announced on the 21st that the Game Ranking Festival (hereinafter GRF) Texas Hold'em National Tournament was successfully concluded.

Sponsored mainly by SpoKorea and hosted by Conple, this tournament was held at the Marigold Hotel in Hongdae with about 200 participants from across the country.

This tournament introduced for the first time a team battle system where teams of five compete. The team battle mainly featured teams sponsored by various companies. A total of 11 teams participated, including 'TEAM GALAXY' and 'FOX Ryuns,' both sponsored by SpoKorea.

'TEAM GALAXY' finished in third place overall but secured first place in the captain's match. The captain who represented TEAM GALAXY and won the captain's match said, "Although it is regrettable that we did not win the team battle, we were able to ease our disappointment by taking first place in the captain's match."

Following the matches on the 18th, the main tournament held the next day saw a large number of players who had earned participation tickets engage in intense competition lasting nine hours. Ultimately, among the 10 players who advanced to the ‘Final Table,’ Hwang Jaehyun from Incheon Triple Pub succeeded in winning first place. According to the company, the final match held that day was broadcast live on YouTube, allowing many viewers to watch the competition.

Kim Geonnam, CEO of SpoKorea, stated, "I am satisfied that this was a tournament that many Hold'em players could enjoy through various events, and we will continue to sponsor GRF and strive to develop it into a global tournament. We will also strengthen our relationship with GRF by further developing the tournament features of our online Texas Hold'em service and making it mobile-friendly, aiming for global service advancement."

Starting with this event, City Special tournaments will be held on February 2nd in Jeju and February 9th in Jeonju, and a monthly national tournament will take place on February 23rd at the Marigold Hotel in Hongdae, Seoul.
