Nanos: "We Will Rebound Through Active M&A and North Korea Projects"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Nanos plans to make a leap forward through active mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and diversification into inter-Korean projects.

Yang Seongil, CEO of Nanos, stated on the 21st, "With the arrival of the new year 2020, we plan to reorganize the company structure and lay the foundation for a leap forward through business diversification." He added, "We will strengthen the inter-Korean related projects we have been pursuing and actively promote future businesses through aggressive M&A strategies and startup scouting."

In particular, Nanos plans to continuously advance inter-Korean projects in line with the improving relations with North Korea. Last year, they activated a talent pool and recruited Kim Hyungki, who served as Vice Minister of Unification under the Kim Dae-jung administration, as an advisor to explore new business opportunities. They also brought in Kim Youngsoo, former spokesperson for National Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun and former head of strategic planning and tourism cooperation at Hyundai Asan, as an outside director to establish the group's overall PR system and enhance the corporate brand image.

Additionally, Nanos plans to actively pursue future investment projects by discovering promising startup ventures and seeking mutual growth. Having grown in the semiconductor parts manufacturing sector, Nanos is now determined to step beyond its existing business and actively engage in future investment projects.

A Nanos official said, "We will pioneer new fields beyond our past business areas," adding, "We are striving to transform into a young company led by the new 2030 generation." He continued, "We will focus our capabilities on discovering new businesses and do our best to make this year one that dramatically enhances the company's value."
