Mayor Lee Yong-seop: "I hope all employees uphold principles with dedication, service, and self-restraint"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 21st that it held a ‘Lunar New Year Integrity Campaign’ targeting public officials, employees of public institutions, and citizens in front of the City Hall local food store.
This Lunar New Year Integrity Campaign was prepared to spread a culture of integrity in the local community, one of the three core values of the 7th term of Gwangju city administration: innovation, communication, and integrity.
Mayor Lee Yong-seop and about 30 city hall employees handed out integrity mugs engraved with the logo ‘No to Entertainment Culture, Let’s Pay Our Own Way’ to employees arriving at work and citizens visiting City Hall, and shouted the integrity slogan, “Realizing a fair and honest Gwangju, public officials will take the lead,” reaffirming their commitment to integrity.
Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, “The true power of public officials comes not from authority but from integrity and fairness,” and added, “Since public officials must be honest for administration to be fair and to gain the trust of the people, I hope all employees uphold principles with an attitude of dedication, service, and self-restraint.”
