LGU+ Launches 1-Year Short-Term Contract Internet Plans for Youth and Foreigners

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus announced on the 21st that it will exclusively sell 1-year short-term contract internet plans through its official online shopping mall 'U+Shop'.

This plan is designed for young people in their 20s or foreigners who feel burdened by long-term contract internet plans. It is available for domestic residents aged 18 to 29 and foreigners of all ages, and can be subscribed to only through U+Shop until March 31.

LG Uplus explained, "Those who frequently move due to renting, enlist in the military, or study abroad, and thus find it difficult to subscribe to a 3-year contract internet plan and have given up on discount benefits, can now use high-speed internet at an affordable price through a 1-year short-term contract."

The eligible internet plans include three types, all with basic Gigawifi: ▲ 'WiFi Basic_Gwanglan Safety' with a maximum speed of 100Mbps ▲ 'WiFi Basic_Giga Slim Safety' with a maximum speed of 500Mbps ▲ 'WiFi Basic_Giga Safety' with a maximum speed of 1Gbps.

The WiFi Basic_Giga Slim Safety plan costs 49,500 KRW per month including VAT for a 1-year contract, but under the exclusive U+Shop promotion, it is available for 30,800 KRW per month. The Internet WiFi Basic_Giga Safety plan is offered at 37,400 KRW per month, 19,800 KRW cheaper than the existing 1-year contract rate, and the WiFi Basic_Gwanglan Safety plan is provided at 24,200 KRW per month, 9,900 KRW less than the existing 1-year contract rate. Free WiFi router and modem rental fees are also included. Service suspension is allowed up to twice a year, with no monthly limit per suspension, totaling up to 1 year.
