[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) officials will actively work during the Lunar New Year holiday to ensure that residents' daily lives are not disrupted.
From the 23rd to the 27th, a total of five officials, including Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol, Deputy Mayor Choi Hong-yeon, Administrative Director Kim Jong-su, Planning and Finance Director Yang Ok-seop, and Welfare and Environment Director Lee Hyung-gwan, will patrol the area to monitor residents' safety and daily life during the holiday, the district announced.
The officials will patrol the area to ensure that residents can spend the Lunar New Year safely and comfortably by checking for risk factors, citizen inconveniences, and cleanliness conditions, and will promptly address any issues that arise.
Since establishing the Safety Officer position in July 2015 to create a safer city, the district is making thorough preparations to prevent safety accidents during this Lunar New Year as well.
Dongdaemun-gu officials have been working during holidays since Chuseok 2017 to ensure uninterrupted administrative operations during the holiday periods.
Additionally, through the officials' communication group (Naver Band), they share daily cleaning status, comprehensive holiday countermeasure progress, and various incidents and accidents every day at 4 p.m., enabling rapid information dissemination and response.
Alongside this, eight teams consisting of 189 employees, including the Cleaning Countermeasure Team, Emergency Medical Treatment Team, Snow Removal Team, and Illegal Parking Enforcement Team, will work 24 hours a day from the 23rd to the 28th centered around the district office's comprehensive situation room to handle their duties.
Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol stated, “District officials will personally visit sites and carefully monitor to ensure residents can spend the Lunar New Year holiday comfortably and safely,” adding, “I hope everyone enjoys a joyful Lunar New Year with their families.”
