[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Bon Group appoints Lee Jin-hee, Head of BonIF FC Division (Director, 45), and Lee Jin-young, Head of Sunsubon FP Division (Director, 42), as CEOs of BonIF and Sunsubon, respectively. This marks the first female professional executives in Bon Group.
According to Bon Group on the 21st, the franchise specialist company BonIF plans to appoint Head Lee Jin-hee as CEO through the March shareholders' meeting. The distribution specialist company Sunsubon will soon appoint Director Lee Jin-young as CEO through a board resolution.
Director Lee Jin-hee, born in 1975, joined BonIF (Sales Team) in April 2006, served as Head of Bon Dosirak Headquarters in April 2013, Head of Bonjuk Headquarters in December 2018, and has been overseeing BonIF FC Division since June 2019.
Director Lee Jin-young, born in 1978, joined BonIF (Marketing Team) in February 2009, served as Head of Management Support Office in December 2012, Head of Online Special Sales Headquarters in 2018, and moved to Sunsubon in July 2019, currently responsible for the FP Division.
Kim Cheol-ho, CEO (Group Leader) of Bon Group, selected young talents as CEOs to strengthen responsible management, believing that the leader at the center of responsible management is the division head.
The atmosphere within the group is also encouraging. The significance of the first female CEO's appointment and the rational reward of promotion when work ability is recognized serve as a model for employees.
A company official stated, "Bon Group is organizing the group structure to provide the best service to consumers and is strengthening responsible management," adding, "Through this CEO appointment, we will strengthen leadership in the food market by quickly meeting changing trends and consumer needs."
Meanwhile, Group Leader Kim entered the franchise market by opening the first Bonjuk store in a small shop in Daehangno in 2002. Within six years, he opened 1,000 franchise stores, the first in Korean food franchises, building BonIF into a leading franchise company. Additionally, the group expanded its business to four corporations: Bon Food Service, operating catering and dining businesses; BonFD, handling distribution and logistics; and Sunsubon, producing home meal replacements and liquid diets.
In the corporations BonIF, Sunsubon, and BonFD, not only the division heads but also Group Leader Kim are appointed as CEOs. Ongoing general businesses are managed by division heads as CEOs, while new businesses and investments will be decided by Group Leader Kim as CEO. BonFD is led by CEO Kim In-ho, and Bon Food Service by CEO Kang Hwan-young.
