Gokseong-gun Promotes Household Egg Sorting, Packaging, and Distribution System

The edible egg sorting, packaging, and distribution system is designed to supply safe eggs to consumers by removing contaminated or broken eggs at businesses that specialize in sorting, washing, drying, sterilizing, inspecting, and packaging edible eggs.

To sell eggs to general households at marts or convenience stores, eggs must be distributed through edible egg sorting and packaging companies equipped with HACCP facilities. Currently, a guidance period has been in operation since last year, and the system is scheduled to be fully implemented starting April 25, when the guidance period ends.

Through this campaign, Gokseong-gun provided information about these details. In particular, it urged sales operators at marts and convenience stores to always verify whether sorting and packaging have been processed by checking the edible egg sorting and packaging request form or the sorting and packaging processing ledger when purchasing eggs from edible egg import and sales businesses.
