Enjoying the Musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar' Through a Concert

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The performance planning company Blue Stage will hold the second series of the 'Stage Concert' with a concert filled with numbers from the rock musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar' at the LG Arts Center from February 28 to March 1.

'Stage Concert' is a musical concert that reconstructs a musical work and completes a performance through all the numbers of the work. Blue Stage presented the 'Phantom of the Opera' concert as one of the 'Andrew Lloyd Webber Memorial Concerts' in 2018, and will stage 'Jesus Christ Superstar' as the second work.

'Jesus Christ Superstar' is a story depicting the last seven days of Jesus' life and is one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's representative works. It began on Broadway in 1971 and has been a steady seller loved worldwide for nearly 50 years.

The second series of the Stage Concert, 'Jesus Christ Superstar,' will feature the creative team who participated in the original musical to enhance the completeness of the work, promising a high-quality stage.

Actor Michael Lee will play the role of 'Jesus,' the son of God, portraying both a sacred and human side. Han Ji-sang, Yoon Hyung-ryeol, Cha Ji-yeon, and Park Kang-hyun will appear as 'Judas,' Jesus' disciple who respects his teacher but ultimately chooses betrayal. Veteran actors Kim Tae-han and Ji Hyun-jun will passionately perform as 'Pilate,' the governor of Judea who puts Jesus through trials.

Actor Kim Young-joo, who made headlines with the bold casting as the world's first female 'Herod,' will play the role of 'Herod,' the king of the colony who enjoys pleasure, alongside Yoo Seung-yeop, currently appearing as Merab in the musical 'Aida.' Actor Park Yoo-gyeom will take on the role of 'Simon.'
