Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction Selected as Contractor for 16.8 Billion KRW Smart Center Project

[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction has been selected as the contractor for the Smart Business Center project worth approximately 16.8 billion KRW.

Korea Technology announced on the 20th that its subsidiary, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction, has been chosen as the contractor for the Suseong Alpha City Smart Business Center project, ordered by Daegu Urban Corporation, with a total contract value of 16.8 billion KRW.

The total construction cost is about 16.8 billion KRW, and the project will be jointly contracted by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction (with a share of about 8.6 billion KRW) and Woo Min General Construction (with a share of about 8.2 billion KRW).

The Suseong Alpha City Smart Business Center will be built in Daehung-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu. Construction will begin at the end of this month. After approximately 21 months of construction, the project is expected to be completed. The building will have a total floor area of 12,069㎡, with one basement floor and eight above-ground floors, housing general office facilities, a workplace daycare center, and education and research facilities.

A representative from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction stated, "Smart office construction, considered a future field in construction, is our area of greatest confidence," adding, "We will undertake the project using the latest construction methods and advanced IT technologies."
