[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Shim Jae-cheol, floor leader of the Liberty Korea Party, on the 20th stated, "It has been confirmed that the Moon Jae-in administration's massacre-like personnel reshuffle in the prosecution was a sinister scheme to cover up the regime's crimes and obstruct investigations," and urged the resignation of Lee Sung-yoon, head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and Shim Jae-cheol, head of the Anti-Corruption and Serious Crimes Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
At the Supreme Council meeting that day, Floor Leader Shim said, "The senior executives at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, filled with political prosecutors through the personnel reshuffle carried out by Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, are blatantly obstructing investigations such as the Yoo Jae-soo case."
He added, "Shim, a close aide of Minister Choo, reportedly instructed to write a no-charge report on Cho Kuk, whom even the court has judged to have a bad nature of crime," and claimed, "Lee is delaying the search and seizure at the Blue House day by day."
Floor Leader Shim urged, "The Liberty Korea Party will push for a special prosecutor investigation into Shim's abuse of power," and said, "Lee and Shim must resign immediately."
He criticized, "The Ministry of Justice is said to hold a prosecution personnel committee this afternoon to replace mid-level executives. Tomorrow, a prosecution organization reform plan will be submitted to the Cabinet meeting," calling it "supporting a second massacre in the prosecution." Floor Leader Shim added, "This means they do not even intend to uphold the principle of guaranteeing prosecution posts for at least one year, which this administration established," and said, "Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl opposed the personnel reshuffle, stating that all mid-level executives at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office expressed their intention to remain, but the reckless Queen Minister Choo is expected to carry out a harsh second personnel reshuffle."
Meanwhile, on the same day, Floor Leader Shim revealed a screenshot of a website called 'DPR Korea Tour,' saying, "North Korean sites are blocked as illegal under the Information and Communications Network Act, but for some reason, the 'Joseon Tourism Site' is openly accessible even domestically."
He criticized, "It is operated by the National Tourism General Bureau, a North Korean administrative agency, but the Ministry of Unification and the Korea Communications Commission, which should regulate it, are passing responsibility to each other, and related agencies such as the National Intelligence Service are neglecting it. It seems encouraged by President Moon's statement at the New Year's press conference that North Korean tourism can proceed regardless of sanctions, but this is clearly a violation of the law."
